March Quilt Block Challenge Results

At quilt group in March we started a fun block challenge activity. We each received a piece of fabric that we had to use to create a finished 12 inch block. Then the following month we brought our finished quilt blocks and then pulled a name from a hat to see who won all the blocks. We will then take turns each month providing fabric for the challenge until everyone participating wins some blocks.

The fabric for the first challenge was a leafy green. So here is the block I made:

I didn't really know what I was doing and I made a lot of mistakes and lost a lot of the points on my triangles. My design was cute but a little beyond my skills at this point.

As it turned out I won all the quilt squares. At first I didn't know what I was going to do with them. When I heard that one of the ladies in our quilt group was having surgery for cancer, I put them all together into a quilt top for her.

Another gal in our group quilted and finished it and we delivered it to her. She was delighted to receive it and she just loves it. :)
